Ibagué, city in west central Colombia, capital of Tolima Department. Located between the Magdalena and Cauca river valleys, Ibagué is an important commercial center. Chocolate, soap, and tobacco products are manufactured here. Sulfur and silver are mined nearby. The University of Tolima (1954) is in Ibagué.
