Ryde, town in New South Wales, Australia, in the Sydney metropolitan area on the Parramatta River. The third-oldest settlement in Australia, Ryde lies in a vegetable-growing area, and has shipyards, brickyards, and potteries. To the north, on the Lane Cove River, is Lane Cove National Park.
