Keg Restaurant 3750 E Valley Rd - 425.251.0220 Recommended Dishes:Anything! Prime rib dinner Review:Great Meat At the Keg!
Review:Great Alehouse The Keg sets the standard when it comes to English pub-style eateries in the Northwest. Their food is always well prepared and a decent quantity. Very hearty food. Best known for their flame broiled steaks. Caesar and wilted spinach salads are made to order. Salad bar is available as a whole meal or in addition to you meal as well as daily soup.
JapanThai 509 S. 3rd St - 425.227.8885 $5.01 - $15 Japanese and Thai cuisine next to Renton Civic Theatre..low cost meals Cuisine: Thai Recommended Dishes:Salmon Curry, Saba Miso, desserts Review:JapanThai: unusual, great food, low cost JapanThai is one of only a few places around that feature Japanese and Thai cuisine. The owners are a Thai woman and her Japanese American husband. His brother, a former fish buyer, fish cutter, and cook at some Seattle's finer Japanese restaurants, works as a cook there, so the seafood is a cut above. The saba(mackerel) and salmon are extraordinarily fresh, and the Thai dishes have a light fresh taste. Portion sizes are generous, prices are low, service is friendly and swift, ice cream is homemade...so what are you waiting for?
River Rock Grill and Alehouse 4050 Maple Valley Highway - 425.430.0311 Recommended Dishes:Daily Seafood Specials Review:Rockin' at the River Rock Good food and very pleasant atmosphere at a reasonable price. Eat in the bar if you are arriving without reservations. The bar is small but it serves everything that's on the dining room menu. And you can stay to listen to live music on the weekends after diner.

Cuisine: American Recommended Dishes:Open face turkey sandwich, Yankee pot roast, turkey pot pie Review:Great American food at the Yankee Grill The meals here are very stick-to-your-ribs with hearty portions. Jubilante 305 Burnett Avenue S. - 425.226.1544 Recommended Dishes: Desserts & bread Red Snapper Fish & Chips, Curry Chicken Soup, Tiramisu DUNGENESS CRAB CAKE Calamari, Crabcakes Duck Review:One of the best places in Renton to go out for lunch This is one of the best places in Renton to go for lunch - and the people who work in Renton know it - lots of lunchtime meetings are held there. Review:Best Food South of Seattle? The homebaked goodies and bread are most definitely worth the visit. However, in 2 of 3 visits, the appetizers or main course was either too salty or too bland. Perhaps this is a result of the restaurant having such an overstated reputation and therefore being very busy almost always. Of course, my pickiness may be due to my living on the East Coast previously (where inexpensive but delicious food is plentiful) or the fact that I actually make many of these dishes at home and enjoy them there much more. With that said, it is still one of the better Renton restaurants and, as mentioned previously, the baked goods are scrumptiou Review:This is definitely worth it. Absolutely fabulous. Review:TOTALLY AWESOME SERVICE, EXCELLENT MEAL STARTERS TO FINISHERS
Review:EAT, DRINK & BE JUBILANTE' Absolutly wonderful food, service and ambiance. Try "jubilante martini" , it is outrageous. Review:8/20 Dinner My wife and I came to Renton last evening to attend Dralion-and ate at Jubilante. Although 'most' of food was good-we had the worst service ever! The female server was so inadequate (slow, non-responsive,...) but not nearly as unattentive and rude as the evening's manager! I spend part of my time running a local Renton company, and wanted to experience this recommended restaurant, but will absolutely NOT eat here again. Review:It's Not Bad Had lunch here today. Didn't even know the place existed. There wasn't much of a noontime crowd so I was a bit concerned. We actually had to seat ourselves... don't know where the host was. So we get seated and it takes FOREVER to get waited on... then it takes another 20 minutes to get our food. But here is the problem. The food was very good. Fresh, well presented, tasty. So that made up for the not so good service. The wait staff, when they did come around, were very pleasant. Ah well... we'll eat there again and recommend it. Just don't count on super fast stellar service. Review:The Best in Renton
Billy McHale's Restaurant 241 SW 7th St. - 425.271.7427 Cuisine: American Recommended Dishes:Guacamole burger Burger,Ribs Review:Fun, lively atmosphere and decent short order food. Burger and sandwiches along with barbequed ribs. Great place for loud group to celebrate. Review:Great service! We had a great time at this restaurant. We got more than we paid for! I ask for my burger to be hot and it was!
Curry Pot 709 S. 3rd St - 425.793.7223 $5.01 - $15 Indian cuisine Cuisine: Indian / Pakistani Recommended Dishes:Fish tikka, shrimp dishes, chicken tandoori Pakora, kheer Garlic Naan, Chicken Curry Butter chicken Review:Curry Pot is an Indian jewel
Review:Curry Pot shines
Review:Curry Pot Adequate Went for the buffet. Perhaps it was because it was 1:30 or so, but the food was not as fresh as could be expected. The tandoori chicken, usually a favorite, had a cloying flavor and did not appear to have been cooked in the tandoor. The zucchini in the curry du jour was limp and translucent; only the spices saved that dish. The two good things were the kheer (rice pudding) and the pakora (deep fried veggies in chickpea batter). Nonetheless, for $4.95 (we used the $1 off coupon in the Renton Reporter) for the buffet, the food was adequate. One minor pick, too, is that the location is in a storefront and it feels as if one is eating at a 7-11 with Indian hanging Review:One of the Best Restaurants Curry Pot is one of the delicious restaurants I have ever been to. The food is delicious....Especially the Samosas they are delicious and Onion Kulcha... Review:Curry Pot....no sparkle in the jewel Visited for the first time at lunch. It was 1:30 and I was the lone diner. The raita tasted like yeast, though I was assured by one three hovering men that the raita was made fresh every two days. The saag paneer was nicely spiced, but the paneer was soft and crumbly, where I expected it to be firm. The butter chicken was the best I've had anywhere in the Seattle area and will be a definite reason to go back. Fishbowl atmosphere with the big storefront windows and high ceilings. It could have been intimate, but something wasn't quite right. Maybe the need a feng shui consultant.
Gene's Ristorante 212 S. 3rd Street - 425.271.7042 $5.01 - $15 Cuisine: Italian Recommended Dishes:Lasagna, Calamari Rings, ANY of the specials. Review:Best Italian in Renton? As with all small restaurants, the atmosphere is very down to earth. The owner is often there to make sure everything is perfect. A variety of dishes and wine will keep you coming back to sample more of the excellent fare. Of specific note are the calamari rings and the lasagna. Review:Much better than average Italian Gene's does some things exceptionally well. The antipasto has roasted peppers, goat cheese, meats, smoked salmon, hazelnuts, wild greens, artichoke hearts, sun dried tomatoes, etc, and is served in a very sizable portion. Soups are homemade daily and always excellent. The calamari, clams, and mussels are also terrific. Entrees vary from eh? to excellent, but desserts are well worth saving some appetite for. I think Gene's is Renton's best Italian and one of the best Italian in the Seattle area. Review:Gene's under new ownership
Mc Gowan's Restaurant and Lounge 317 Main Avenue S. - 425.271.6644 Review:Not bad for Renton
Spirit of Washington Dinner 625 S. 4th Street - 425.227.7245 Recommended Dishes:Salmon dishes are always a good choice Review:Riding the Rails in Renton An interesting dining experience while traveling by train along the shores of Lake Washington. Food was very good. Gretchen Matthers, a local restaurateur, operates the food service. The meals are very tasty and try to incorporate local cuisine. Salmon is a staple. The train is rather old and rickety and rocks a lot. Nothing that would keep you from eating, and most likely you will get used to it in the first couple of miles. Staff is well trained and service is excellent especially given the environment they have to work in -- aisles smaller than airplanes. There is a host in each car who keeps the evening lively. Tour and wine tasting at Ste. Michelle winery is enjoyable. Single price for both train ride and meal. Soft drinks included. Alcoholic beverages extra. Food cost is separated separate out at the end of the evening for tipping basis and is comparable to many local restaurants. Less than $30 for the whole meal. One warning: though air conditioned, the cars can get very warm in the summertime
Tacqueria Guaymas 530 Rainier Ave. S. - 206.235.2152 Kid Friendly Cuisine: Mexican Recommended Dishes:vegetarian burrito ( the special ) Review:Authentic and good This place is kind of a hole-in-the-wall but the food is so good and the menu includes a lot of authentic Mexican dishes for a reasonable price. The vegetarian dishes are full of grilled veggys and all their meats are tender. The portions are good size too. I would highly recommend it for the food.
Whistle Stop Ale House 340 Burnett Avenue S. - 425.277.3039 Cuisine: Deli / Sandwiches Recommended Dishes:Fat Tire and Guiness Black and Tan Review:Renton's Version of Cheers Not much in the way of a dining experience but one shouldn't go there expecting such. Sandwiches and salad available. Sometimes they grill hot dog and burgers outdoors in the summer. This is the place to go with friends who want to sit back and relax over some premium ales in an atmosphere that feels homey. Staff is very friendly and there are a lot of regulars. Sam Malone and company would fit right in here.
Armondo's Cafe Italiano 919 S. 3rd Street - 425.228.0759 Cuisine: Italian Recommended Dishes:Seafood linguini in white sauce. Armondo's Chicken Review:One of Renton's Best Kept Secrets Very good food! The smell of olive oil, garlic, and baked bread permeates the restaurant. Portions are filling. Excellent calizone pizza. Most meals served with soup or salad. Foccacia bread topped with olive oil, parmesan and herbs served when dining. Beer and wine available. Reasonably priced for both lunch and dinner. Lunches under $10, dinners under $15. Excellent value for good food. Good caf?tyle service. Small seating area but quaint atmosphere. Children are welcome. No reservation so it sometimes takes a while to get in. Arrive early for best seati Review:A favorite lunch place Good stuff - one of the favorite "let's go out for lunch" spots amongst people who work in Renton. Review:Italy comes to Renton! I love this little restaurant. My favorite dish is Armondo's Chicken; it's wonderful! I've tried to copy it at home, but there's just no matching the perfect blend of seasonings you'll enjoy in this dish. The atmosphere depends a lot on what you're looking for, and where you're seated. I like to go to the middle dining room, between the entry area and the bar. The entry area dining has a bit too much distraction, and the bar service is not as good. But overall, the restaurant is one of my top 5 picks, and number one choice for Italian. Yummy! Review:Raw Salmon We went here for my husband's b-day. We've always heard good things about the restaurant. We waited 40 mins. for our entrees and when my husband was served his 'blacken Salmon.' He took two bites and it was raw in the middle. Bright red and mushy. Very gross. I just hope he doesn't get food poisoning. I don't think we'll eat there again.
Ivar's Seafood Bar 1201 Lake Washington Boulevard N. - 425.226.2122 Cuisine: Seafood Recommended Dishes:Clam chowder Review:Ivar's at Coulan Park Only real food available at Coulan Park on the shores of Lake Washington. Typical Ivar's short order, deep fried food -- breaded fish, clams, shrimp and fries. Ivar's famous clam chowder is alway great. Inside and outside seating. Watch out for the seagulls. Nice place to go with the family on a warm summer day.
Quizno's Classic Subs 210 S.W. 43rd Street - 425.251.5458 Review:Typical Quizno sandwiches. Clam Chowder soup was less that desirable. Good for a quick hot lunch. Limited seating.
