Murray, city, Salt Lake County, northern Utah, on the Jordan River, near Salt Lake City; incorporated 1902. It is a trade center for an area of diversified business and manufacturing concerns. The city, established by Mormons in 1847, is named for Eli H. Murray, a governor of the territory of Utah.
