Review: Upscale Italian Restaurant
Went there with a party of twenty, had a choice of four entrees, all of which were incredible. The gorgonzola stuffed filet melted in your mouth, the accompanying sweet potato fries were a delicious surprise. The charbroiled shrimp were cooked and seasoned to perfection. Impeccable service, one of the best wine selections in the city. The big roomy atmosphere only adds to the dining experience. Definitely one of my and my friends favorites.

Review: Really Great Food, and Unusual Selection
The food here is always outstanding. Service can be great to a little slow when things are really busy. The dishes are not the usual - definitely an individual touch by the chef, and you won't find these items (typically a Texas twist on Mexican cuisine) anywhere else.

Review: Warm & Inviting
The Guenther house is located on the bend of the San Antonio River at the foot of King William, one of the oldest historical districts in Texas. The home has been turned into a restaurant, museum & retail store. The restaurant offers a variety of breakfast/lunch dishes. (We have never been disappointed). The museum houses old bakeware, mill memorabilia, & annivarsary Dresden china plates. The store (my favorite) offers, baking mixes, custom stoneware, bakeware, coffees, syrups, honey, cookbooks & tons of other gift items. The Guenther House is a definite must stop when in San Antonio. ps...they have great lemonade!

Review: Great Everything
Everything about this restaurant is the best. Great food great people, great city, great everything.
Review: My Favorite Spot in San Antonio
I go here with family all the time, because it's my favorite spot for good food! The atmosphere can be noisy but ask for a booth and you'll be okay. The food is outstanding tex-mex at reasonable prices. Margaritas will do you right!
Review: Consistenly Good
Good food, good service, and good frozen margaritas at reasonably low prices. Background noises interfer with conversation sometimes.
Review: Best Tortilla Soup!!
We love this place! They make their own tortillis, we always order some extra to take home! We start every meal with margaritas! This numbs your mouth to prepare you for the most incredible batter dipped and stuffed jalapenos, nobody makes them as mouth-watering as Alamo Cafe! Next is the must have best Tortilla Soup in town! Now, even though you're way too full after stuffing youself with these two entrees, make sure you order at least on beef fajita, cut it up and share it if you have to, because you've never tasted anything like this one! Order your dessert to go because you'll need a wheelbarrow to get you back to your car! We love the Margarita Pie!
Bullpeppers Olde Towne Cafe

Southwestern style restaurant serving everything from home cooking to great burgers.
Cuisine: Family
Recommended Dishes: Home Cooking dishes No Bull Schnitz, Catalina Island Chicken and Bayoo Bello and try the Bull Dozers!!
Review: Southwestern
Great bratwurst and sauerkraut, crunchy delicious Shiner bock battered catfish. The patio is a relaxing place to meet with freinds and slam a few beers after a long day at the office. The only drawback is terrible service.
Review: Great Food & Service
This is the coolest new restaurant in San Antonio. Try the Chicken Catalina stuffed with pistachios cheese and spinach in avocado sauce. They warn that the Eight Pepper Pizza is too hot and it is. The Mad Cow Salsa has been really firey sometimes but sometimes less so. The service started out shakey when they first opened but it has been great as of recent with familar faces working.

Jacala Mexican Restaurant
606 West Ave - 210.732.5222 $5.01 - $15
One of the oldest Mexican restaurants in San Antonio. Outdoor patios, gold margaritas.
Cuisine: Mexican
Recommended Dishes: Cheese Enchiladas with Beef Sauce Cheese Enchiladas, Cheese Puffy Tacos
Review: Not Just the Same Enchilada
I have been visiting Jacala's for many years and they are still one of my all around favorites for basic Mexican food. The restaurant is decorated with some kitschy Mexican decoration including a mural scene from the San Antonio Riverwalk. Service is usually swift and the food hot and tasty (and they don't charge extra for chips and salsa).
Review: This is the Best Tex-Mex Food Anywhere
San Antonio is the home of Tex-Mex and Jacala is the best in San Antonio. Consistently great food, excellent service and very affordable prices. The famous puffy tacos are great, but the heart of the menu is the cheese enchiladas. I've tried hundreds and these are clearly the best anywhere. If you're in SA, get directions and go to Jacala. Pura Vida!
Alamo Cafe
14250 N U.S. Highway 281 - 210.495.2233
Cuisine: Mexican
Recommended Dishes: Chips and Queso, Chicken Quesadillas
Review: Great Mexican Food with Great Atmosphere
Great food. Make sure you look at the ceiling when you walk in. It's amazing how quick your food will come out. You get as many tortillas as you want. Ask for Melanie as a waitress, she's great.
