Cuisine: Mexican Recommended Dishes: Ribs and El Paso salad T-Bone w/sauteed mushrooms, Baked potato w/everything onion loaf and brisket Cheese Fries Shrimp Buttlock w.Filet ickkie Review: Poor Service We had ribs, two El Paso salads, and a large steak. The ribs and the salads were great. The steak was to be cooked med/rare and it came to the table slightly browned on each side and had to be sent back. The waitress never asked us if we wanted bread and had to be asked each time we needed water or our drinks refilled. She brought coffee and never offered to refill the cup. She brought us the bill and we had to ask her if we could see a dessert menu. She brought it and we ordered a double fudge brownie to go. She brought us a brownie in a small plastic cup. We asked where the fudge and ice cream were and she said they were out of fudge and if we wanted ice cream she would go and get us some. She brought back a small scoop of ice cream in a plastic cup. The only time she came to the table with out being asked by us was when she took our order. We generally go to Long Horn but wanted to try something new. This was our first visit to the restaurant. Review: Excellent Taste of Texas I found "Lone Star Restaurant" be be the finest in Texas. Serving Mexican food to lobster. Waitresses and waiters very kind and at my attention. I find the steaks and chopped beef BBQ sandwiches to be my favorites. Also a perfect atmosphere. Review: Theres a bug in my soup and the potatoes are frozen!! My experience there was just that! The wing of a bug in my soup made me vomit. and to top it off I bite into a frozen "twiced baked" potato! Gross. I totally lost my appetite and was angered when management did nothing about this situation!! Review: A change during the years Review: Last time In all my life I have been able to eat every thing on my plate. I have eaten things I didn't particularly like but I could always manage to eat it. I ordered the special of the day, which was a 16 oz. sirloin steak. Usually this is one of the steaks that has great taste and most chefs recommend it. When I received mine it looked so good I was ready to chow down. My first bite was very good but every bite afterwards got saltier. I could only eat 1/3 of the steak before I just couldn't eat another bite. It was the worst steak I ever tried to eat. When I voiced my opinion to the waiter he said he was sorry but did not do anything to satisfy my situation. I ended up eating my wife's salad that she left because she was full and I ate the bread and steak fries that came with my order. As I was leaving I told the manager and he said he would let the chef know that I thought the steak that I paid 19 dollars for wasn't good to me. I tipped the waiter because it wasn't his cooking, but I will never eat at a Lone Star again. Most restaurants will delete the item from the bill, but not here. On top of all this the salad was good but like I said, this steak wasn't good enough to take home in a doggie bag. Review: Lone Star #4211 I had never been to Lone Star Restaurant. However, I had a coupon for lunch that stated 2 lunches for $10.00. The restaurant did not fully honor the coupon. The lunch total was $22.95. I brought it to the waitress attention that that couldn't be correct. She took the bill back to the manager (who ever he/she was) then she returned with an adjusted bill, which still wasn't correct. The new total was $15.89. I informed the waitress that it still wasn't correct. She told me that I would need to see the manager. I told her that I was going to pay the bill. However, I would never come to the restaurant again. I thought it was poor service for the manager not to come out and address the problem. The restaurant was not busy at all, only a few customers. And the fact that the coupon was not acknowledged correctly. This was our first time visiting Lone Star and we will not never ever visit it again. The food was O.K., the bread was cold and the service was lousy. I have friends that our looking for a good restaurant recommendation. I can assure you I won't be recommending Lone Star. Review: poor service We went to Lone Star for a Mother's Day dinner. We were seated right away. After sitting there for 20 minutes or so, we still hadn't been waited on. There was a waitress that had been passing our table to get food for her tables. She finally took time to question why we hadn't been served. They asked the waitress that was working tables directly across from us to include our table in with hers because she only had two at that time. She said absolutely not. Finally the waitress that had been passing by from the other side decided to include us in her tables. Since she had so many already, the wait was really long between visits. Which meant that our drinks weren't filled, our Onion was great, but we didn't get the sauce on time, which made our onion cold by the time the sauce arrived. The salad was horrible, the steak fries were floating in the juice from the steak. It was the worst meal we had ever had at the Lone Star. My husband was so upset by the whole thing that He will probably never want to go to dinner there again. Review: Cajun Ribeye Not Cajun Ribeye My husband and I used to frequent Lone Star and usually always enjoyed our meals there. We've recently had three young children, and don't eat out as often as we used to. We wanted a great meal one night, so we decided to try our "old favorite". The meal was horrible from start to finish. Everything took forever - from being seated to getting our check. The Cajun Ribeye my husband always orders was extremely over-done and was so salty he COULD NOT eat it.
