Review: Chico's Tacos - Not Your Average Taco

Review: The Best Food in the World
Chico Sauce has been a mystery for years. Both red and green.
Review: Only Chico's
Wouldn't be a trip to El Paso, w/o a trip to Chico's.
Review: Terrible Food
Chicos Tacos is not that good of food, especially the tacos. The Tacos made me sick one time I had gone with my family.
Review: I only go to El Paso for two things - to eat Chico's tacos when I get there and to eat Chico's tacos before I go home.
Review: The Best
El Paso's known for Chicos Tacos. It's the best place to eat.
Review: Simply The Best
It's not fine dining (you can go in jeans) but they have the best tacos I ever tasted.
Review: Yum Yum
I use to live in El Paso and now that I moved away I have cravings all the time. Its the best food you can get and cheap. Very worth the stop.
Review: Best Kept Secret
Chico's Tacos is one of the many things that makes El Paso "home". Many El Pasoans move away and at one point or another return and pay a visit to Chico's. It's tradition to stop here after concerts, sporting events, and parties. The restaurants are always full because the food is always great and the price is fair.
Review: Old School Hang Out in El Pachuco Town
I took Chico's for granted while I lived en El Chuco. Now that I live in Dallas I crave Chico's more than anything this world. Every time I go to El Paso, Chico's Tacos is my first stop.
Andre's Pizza
3233 N Mesa St - 915.543.3233
Cuisine: Pizza
Recommended Dishes: Meat Ball Sub, Bread Sticks, Pepperoni and Bacon Pizza
Review: Great food!
This place is the best. The staff is friendly, the food, oh my god. You can watch the skilled pizza makers make your pizza right in front of you. If is great..
Review: I love this restaurant and have since I first tried it back in 1995 when I moved here! Everything on the menu is to die for!
Review: Good Food, Slow Service
We also enjoy Andre's, but consistently the food preparation seems to take an awfully long time. But if you don't mind the wait, they have excellent sandwiches and pizza.
Big Fisherman
9052 Dyer St - 915.751.1700
Cuisine: Seafood
Review: This place Rules
Great Food! Bad neighborhood on ugly street but the foods pretty damn good.
Bistro
7500 N. Mesa, Suite 212 - 915.584.5757
Recommended Dishes: I Garlic Grilled Salmon w/ Red Thai Curry Sauce
Review: Creative Cuisine at its Best
I recently visited The Bistro for dinner on my 17th anniversary with my wife. I must say the size of the restaurant seemed a little small at first. I quickly got lost in a conversation and was surprised to see the beautiful presentation of our food which gave me an opportunity to complement wife on how beautiful she was. Anyways, the service was unforgetable. The dishes were different for my likings but I left with a new liking of undescribible cuisine.

AJs Diner
7102 N Mesa Street - 915.584.2514 $5.01 - $15
All american restaurant with a 1960's theme. Standard fare includes burgers, fries and a milkshake. Also includes some retro drinks, such as flavored soda and purple cow.
Cuisine: American
Review: Good Food, Diner Prices
AJs is a nice place to go for a good hambuger/fries/shake. It remindes our family of "Steak'n'Shake" a midwest chain. Wait staff is always fast, but food preparation seems just a bit on the slow side.

Cuisine: Tex-Mex
Recommended Dishes: a single with extra cheese and green chile

Mad Hatter
7933 N Mesa St # H - 915.845.1800 $15.01 - $30
A whimsical setting with a Looking Glass theme.
Cuisine: American
Recommended Dishes: Sadly, none
Review: Decorated in the spirit of Through the Looking Glass. An interesting atmosphere to compliment good food and excellent service.
Review: Don't bother
I'm not sure why this was recommended to us... something must have changed for the worse. The woman who identified herself as the owner was rude and unapologetic for the mediocre service and the cold, tasteless food. I, for one, will not bother to visit here again.
Avilas Mexican Food
10600 Montana Avenue - 915.598.3333 $5.01 - $15
Cuisine: Mexican
Recommended Dishes: None!!
Review: Anglo East Coast Mexican Food
Avilas is the worst Mexican restaurant I have ever been to. I do not see how they can call it Mexican food. Around three years ago, a friend and myself, went to Avilas for dinner. We ordered tacos, which had hardly any flavor and the beans and rice had an after taste. About a year later, another friend invited me out to eat. She wanted to try Avilas (she had never been there). So reluctantly agreed and I warned her of my past experience. We both ordered the enchilada plate. The red sauce tasted as if it came out of a can. Needless to say, we did not finish our plate and left. Never again will I go to Avilas. Other El Pasoens I know (Hispanic, Anglo or Black) feel the same way.
Alexandro's Mexican Restaurant
5655 Gateway West - 915.779.6773 $5.01 - $15
Cuisine: Tex-Mex
Back Burner Bistro
7130 North Mesa Street - 915.587.5797 $15.01 - $30
The Back Burner Bistro is the west-sides newest fine dining adventure. The expansion of a new private dining room along with a full service upscale bar takes you right out of the wild west and into a New York City warehouse. The food is very eclectic and prices very reasonable. All entrees are served with accompanying sides. The staff is very knowledgable on all food and wine and with three Chefs on site the quality presented is superb.
