Abuelos Mexican Food Embassy 4782 S 14th Street - 325.692.4776 $5.01 - $15 Cuisine: Tex-Mex Recommended Dishes:It's all good. all good ANYTHING Review:Outstanding, I travel every week and entertain customers all the time. I would enjoy knowing where other locations are plus where new ones are going to be built. Review:Nice atmosphere. Plain food. Review:UNBELIEVABLE I entertain clients on a regular basis, and nothing tops the fine Tex-Mex flavor. Review:A Unique Dining Experience The service was above and beyond the call of duty. Our waiter Dave was extremly attentive and "friendly". He created a very diverse atmosphere for dining. I can't wait to visit again. Review:Best Tex-Mex ANYWHERE You know how you like certain Tex-Mex dishes from certain Tex-Mex restaurants? Well look no further! Abuelos has better food than any other Tex-Mex place I've ever eaten at, and I'm a fatboy so I know what I'm talking about. From their delicious chips and addictive salsa (which you can purchase by the way) to their fajitas or enchiladas or even their salads, I've found no other place where it's ALL GOOD. The chicken melts in your mouth and has such wonderful flavor. I look for excuses to go there. The alcoholic beverages a quite tasty also; and, the prices are about average with any other restaurant. My advice is spend the extra dollar for their top shelf magarita...heavenly! So all in all, do YOURSELF the favor and get to Abuelos as quickly as you can. You won't be disappointed.
China Bowl 5001 S 14th Street - 325.698.1688 A small restaurant with a good Chinese food menu, a nice atmosphere, and reasonable prices. Cuisine: Chinese Recommended Dishes:Chicken fried rice, hot pepper steak Review:Good food and friendly service Are you looking for a Chinese restaurant that has good food, friendly service and a fast drive-thru? Then give China Bowl a try. Also, when you are not short on time, they have inside dining with a pleasant atmosphere. The food arrives piping hot and is freshly prepared, not standing under a heating lamp all day. I recommend this restaurant to my friends and enjoy their food at least 3 times a month if not more often. My favorite dish is the chicken fried rice which is always more than enough to satifsy my hunger.

Churrasco served every Friday and Saturday evening. Cuisine: Mediterranean Recommended Dishes:Parrilla, Zarzuela, Lamb Go somewhere else Saltimboca ala florentina Review:my favor Romantic, not expensive for the quality. Review:Worst Steak In Texas Worst steak in Texas. For $20 I had my expectations up for a great piece of meat. Ordered medium rare, comes out medium well. Server never comes around to see if the food is good, then lies to the manager right in fornt of us. Managers are not any better, told me my steak was medium rare. I guess if its not burnt, then its rare from the country he comes from. The alfredo tasted like lipton in a cup. Worst dining experiance I have ever had. Review:A new favourite Wow! Abilene has a hidden jewel in the City called Alioli! The food was wonderful and the service as well. The server was very knowledgeable on the menu and paced the meal perfectly. The ambiance was so unique and who can complain seated beneath two numbered and signed Salvador Dali pieces. Wow, wow and wow!
Joe Allen's Pit Bar B Que 1233 S. Treadway - 325.672.6082 $5.01 - $15 Cuisine: Steaks Recommended Dishes:NONE Ribeye Review:Waste of Time Any place that does not consider brisket to be barbecue is a waste of time in my book. Bad service, overpriced, very bad attitude. Review:B. W.'s Lying I have to wonder if the other review is legit. Everyone I know loves this place--the lot is always full at meal times. I went to college in Abilene and loved it. They have great BBQ dinners & sandwiches but if you're a steak lover, this is the place. Ribeyes are outstanding (I prefer the 1 1/4 inch/Medium rare). It's a run-down old shack of a building which only adds to the lore. Only drawback is that you have to wait in line twice (if you get a steak). Once to order & to pay after done (steaks have to be weighed). Best value for outstanding steaks.
Buns Over Texas 4325 Southwest Drive - 325.692.7712 Cuisine: American Review:Burgers etc., the Way They Should Be
Cypress Street Station 158 Cypress Street - 325.676.3463 Cuisine: Eclectic Recommended Dishes:Beef Tenderloin and Special of the Day Review:Well worth the drive from Brownwood...... We've been satisfied diners of Cypress Station for about 7 years. The food and service have always been well worth the 3 hours of "windshield time" ( Brownwood to Abilene - Abilene to Brownwood ). Not only is the food great, but the restored building itself is a true gem for Abilene and its visitors. Flambe tableside service has a nice flair too! Service has always been top notch as well. Being in "the business" ourselves, we appreciate all that is offered at Cypress Street Station. Bon apetit ..........
