Review: My husband and I had a wonderful, romantic dinner at Anson's. The waiter was extremely helpful, steering us to his favorite dish which was outstanding - barbecue grouper with Carolina rice. The wine list was excellent as well. Altogether a fabulous experience.
Review: A truly memorable dining experience
I had the delightful experience of dining at Anson's restaurant last week. It was a memorable experience --food, service and ambiance were exceptional. I highly recommend the She Crab soup and Anson's signature whole flounder.
Review: Anson knows how to treat you
I had the pleasure of dining at Anson in April 2002. Although I was alone, I was treated like a celebrity, being seated at a lovely window table upstairs. The service and food were fantastic, from the champagne and oysters to the grouper in a nut crust with beurre blanc. I can't wait to visit again someday!

Review: Good Reliable Food

Review: California Dreamin' is my favorite restaurant! The appetizers are out of this world! I love the salads and warm crossaints. Keep up the good work!!
Review: Many Restaurants fluctuate in terms of quality and service, but California Dreaming has been a consistently nice experience (except for a sometimes long wait, but STILL worth the effort) over the last several years. We stay in Charleston for 7-10 days each month (we operate a concrete pressure cleaning and topcoating business) and there are many nice restaurants, but so many times we go elsewhere to eat dinner and as we leave, we are wishing we had gone to California Dreaming instead. The quality of the food served, the service, the VIEW, the prices are all excellent. The wait, and the noise (partly due to the bare metal in the ceilings), are something you have to deal with to get the rest. We usually dine there several times each time we stay in Charleston.

Review: Great Restaurant!!!
Everytime I come to Charleston, this place is on the list of places to eat. It has the regional lowcountry flair, but also has your traditional steak as well. I like the bar and the feeling of the restaurant - it has a "celebratory" feel to it, which I like. Not too noisy, but not so quiet that you can hear everyone's conversation.
Joseph's

Business breakfast and lunch spot offering beignets, bananas Foster, Po'Boys, BST, turkey salad, and egg specialties.

Recommended Dishes: the '128 Meeting Street'
Review: Wonderful sandwiches!
Joseph's is a great luncheon bistro. The atmosphere is casual, yet elegant. The food is presented with flair and attention to taste, quality, and price. For awhile there they even sold Pootine (A Quebec favorite of fried potatoes and gravy), which was quite a delightful surprise. Joseph's is friendly and offers an excellent menu. Well worth the visit.

Cuisine: American
Recommended Dishes: Buffalo Shrimp Appetizer and (of course) Chicken Wings, Ranch and the Jamaican Jerk. Baked Potato Soup Wing Sampler Platter; Chicken Sandwiches;
Review: Fun Atmosphere in Club District
With two successful locations serving the lowcountry, the franchise has proven that Wild Wing Cafe is the authority on wings. Wings aren't the only menu items this restaurant and bar offer. With tender ribs served with a variety of flavors that Baskin Robbins could hardly compete with, the staff at Wild Wing Cafe shows that versatility and the ability to serve all customers that enter these doors is what makes this restaurant a must see in Charleston.
Review: Disappointing Results
As a vegetarian, the idea of going to a bar known for its buffalo wings seemed kind of absurd. But the menu outside indicated they had what looked like a good house salad, so we went in. I ordered that salad with peanut sesame dressing, and a bowl of baked potato soup (both without the bacon). The soup was great, with large pieces of baked potato, but I was terribly disappointed in the salad. For $4.99 it should have been much larger, and the sight of wilted lettuce was upsetting. It did have a fair amount of mixed vegetables - that is, it wasn't ALL wilted lettuce - but overall it wasn't much of a meal
Review: Excellent Wings
Upon our arrival in Charleston, my wife and I were looking for a lunch spot to satisfy a couple of hungry appetites and we happened upon the Wild Wing Cafe. What a nice find this turned out to be, as we enjoyed a nice, casual dining experience in which wings ruled supreme, despite the fact that the restaurant offers a wide variety of food items. We were very pleased with the high level of service our very competent and nice server provided and the wings and chicken sandwich platter certainly did not disappoint--they were very good and tasty. Be mindful of the fact that the mere name of this restaurant strongly suggests this is not the kind of establishment that caters to vegetarians--individuals of such persuasion would certainly be much better served dining elsewhere. But if one is looking for good wings prepared in many different styles, excellent service, very reasonable prices and a nice, yet very casual, overall atmosphere, the Wild Wing Cafe shouldn't disappoint.

Cuisine: Continental / European
Recommended Dishes: grouper
Review: Just great!
It was an enjoyable evening.
Review: overrated
A local tour guide recommended Magnolia's for Southern cooking, and especially to try the Shrimp and Grits. I thought it was ok, nothing to write home about. The sauce was too rich and tangy, I think it was made with bacon fat. I had the Pulled Pork with collard greens and mash potatoes. Man, heart-attack city. The pork was too sweet, the collard greens were too salty and potatoes were too buttery. I was very disappointed since I was looking forward to good, ole Southern cooking. I've tasted better in NYC.
