Lorenzo Pulizzi Pizza 216 South Street - 215.829.0880 $5.01 - $15 Cuisine: Italian Recommended Dishes:slice Review:Lorenzo's Pizza is great You gotta try this place. The slices are delicious, big, and cheap $2. I used to go there about every day but I ate it too much. Now I have to limit my trips. Also, they get u in and out quick. But don't come with hopes of toppings for a slice, cause toppings are only possible on whole pies.

Service was quick and efficient. The food was excellent. What I really wanted was a light snack but once I tried the beef fried rice, I coulddn't stop! I only wish I had had a fidge in my hotel room so I could enjoy the dish over and over. My dining companions had eggplant, fried wontons (stuffed with lobster) and breaded shrimp. All dishes were excellent!

Academy Cafe 2nd floor in the Doubletree Hotel, on Broad St. at Locust St. - 215.893.1667 $15.01 - $30 American style cuisine with a view of Broad Street.\nOffers a very reasonably priced pre-theatre menu. Cuisine: Breakfast / Brunch Recommended Dishes:Snapper Basilica Filet Migon Thai Chicken & Shrimp Noodle Salad with Thai Chili Vinaigrette dressing Review:Great Food! Great Service! I didn't know what to expect because there wasn't much to be found on this restaurant. The food was absolutely magnificent and the price was very reasonable. If you are going to a show in any of the theatres on the avenue, this is a must place to dine before the show. They offer a price fixed menu that has many choices for only $24.95. It is located in the Doubletree hotel directly across from the Academy of music, Merriam Theatre and the Kimmel Center. There is a parking Garage that is adjacent to the Hotel that makes for easy parking. I would suggest this restaurant to anyone who has never dined at this well kept secret of the Avenue of the Arts. It is Perfect! Review:A Must Try for the Theatre Crowd Tired of the overcrowded high priced restaurant scene? Try the Academy Cafe. My wife & I had a wonderful pre-theatre meal. We picked from a fixed priced menu, that was billed as a pre-theatre special. I had a wonderful filet migon, & my wife had a very tasty pasta dish. The atmosphere was quaint, & the service was above par. Review:Best Salad Ever! Try their Thai Noodle Salad with grilled chicken and shrimp! They give you a great portion and the dressing is out of this world!!! I am still looking for the recipe.

Jim's Steaks 400 South St. - 215.928.1911 Recommended Dishes:Cheesesteak Sandwiches Review:Quick and Great After reading not to intimidated by the long lines, I found this to be true. Lines move very quickly and the wait is well worth it. This was the highlight for my 15-year-old nephew's visit to Philadelphia. Great food though not much room to eat it there. But even if you have to sit on the curb it's worth it! Best of all, its on the Phlash route making it very convenient to get to (though it maay take a few minutes to get through the traffic).
