Albany, city in western Oregon, seat of Linn County, at the junction of the Willamette and Calapooya rivers. Albany was settled in 1846 and incorporated in 1864. Major industries include grass seed, food processing, and the production of zirconium, titanium, hafnium, and other metals; and wood and paper products. The city, site of a United States Bureau of Mines experimental station, is named for Albany, New York.
