Broken Arrow, city, Tulsa and Wagoner counties, northeastern Oklahoma; settled 1903. A suburb of Tulsa with some light industry, it developed as part of an agricultural and coal- and oil-producing region. The city is named for the Creek Native American community Thlikachka (Broken Arrow) located here. Population 35,761 (1980); 58,043 (1990); 74,859 (2000).
