Stow, city, Summit County, northeastern Ohio, a suburb of Akron; incorporated as a city 1961. It is primarily residential with some light industry. Settled in 1804, the community is named for Joshua Stow of Connecticut, who purchased (1796) and visited the area, but never actually lived here.
