Parma, city, Cuyahoga County, northeastern Ohio, on Big Creek; incorporated 1932. It is primarily a residential suburb of Cleveland with some manufacturing, including the production of motor-vehicle parts and tools and dies. Settled in 1816, the community was originally named Greenbriar; it was renamed in 1826 for the city of Parma, Italy.
