Miyako 143 Berry Street - 718.486.0837 Cuisine: Japanese Recommended Dishes:Try the dol sut bi bim bap and the volcano roll. Review:excellent! Miyako is the first Japanese restaurant to open in Williamsburg and I am one of its first and still loyal customers. Since then other Japanese restaurants have opened but it does not compare to Miyako's authentic food and genuine service. It is a small yet cozy restaurant that makes you feel like you belong.
200 Fifth 200 Fifth Avenue - 718.638.2925 Recommended Dishes:Chicken Parmasean and mashed potatoes Chicken Saltimboca & Shrimp Scampi over Linguine & Red Devil Drink Review:200 Fifth an excellent restaurant My waiter was very helpful. He recommended the chicken parmasean. The service was not as quick as I hoped but it was very crowded. When I recieved the food it was very hot. The mashed potatoes were very rich and creamy. There was a large portion of chicken parmasean. It was very tender. The bathrooms were a little cramped but they were clean. The ambience was not only romantic with the candles lit but, it is also a place where you can take your family (with crayons and toys to keep the children busy). There is an area with a sports bar but the restaurant is very large so the sports bar doesn't distract you. There is no need for reservations but I would recommend getting there early because there was a 10 minute wait. Overall, it was an outstanding experiance and I would recommend it to anyone! Review:Just 2 Chill I just love this restaurant/bar. I work in Red Hook and I go there on ocassion after work with my boyfriend or friends. The atmosphere is super friendly, but not all in your face. The crowd is really easy going & mixed. In the years I've been going there, I have never, ever seen any altercations. When you go there you MUST try the "Chicken Saltimboca". It is a very excellent dish. So is the "Shrimp Scampi with Linguine". Even the Linguine tastes like shrimp. You have never tasted a Red Devil until you've tasted theirs. It is excellent. I have all my friends hooked on it. This place is so cool, you can either sit to eat & drink, or just sit and drink. They don't hassle you or force you to buy dinner. They have Latin Flava!
Annie's Blue Moon 156 Montague St - 718.596.0061 Recommended Dishes:fajitas and 'Irish Press' sandwiches; almost any daily special Review:Best Place for Fun in Brookyln Heights Annie's on Montague Street in Brooklyn Heights is possibly that one last place in a neighborhood fast becoming so engagingly charmed by itself that it has forgotten how to have a good time -- where you STILL CAN have a good time. It's a grat pub atmosphere, with far better food than you would expect from a pub, with nightly specials and great drink deals, especially their drink "lotto", where drinks can cost .10 cents or .25 cents if you're lucky. Great pool table (tournaments) and video games. Friendly atsmosphere with people who still enjoy a fun night out. Good looking locals and occasional tourists mix among attentive, friendly, and attractive staff..

Caffe Carciofo 248 Court Street - 718.624.7551 Review:Cobble Hill Favorite This is one of my favorite restaurants, mainly because it survived the sweep of the ultra-trendy, pricey, Manhattan-like intruders to neighboring Smith Street. I prefer a quaint, friendly place like Carciofo. The food is delectable, and the service is equally perfect. They have a variety of wines on their ever-changing wine list, and the daily specials are always creative and innovative. One of my favorites is the veal and spinach risotto that has hearty chunks of veal and spinach mixed together with perfectly cooked arborio rice, usually in a white wine butter sauce. They also have exquisite Salmon and other vegetarian friendly entrees! I love to peek into the back party room to check if there are any new additions to the antique decor. I'm counting the days til the warmer season comes when I can sit at a table outside and watch the world go by as I nibble on my gazpacho and zucchini crostini!!
