Apple Tree Restaurant 123 Bent St. - 505.758.1900 Recommended Dishes:Green Chile Steak Sandwich Review:Delicious Food with a Nice Ambiance A very appealing eatery with a lovely outdoor dining area. Good wine selection and the dishes are varied enough to please most. Review:A bit disappointed I've been stopping in Taos on my way back to Colorado Springs at least twice a year when visiting Santa Fe, and always stopped at The Apple Tree Restaurant, for the last several years, the food and service had been great however, on Saturday May 3rd 2003 my wife and I made a reservation through our Bed & Breakfast accommodations, (The Dream Catcher) for the Apple Tree Restaurant for 7:15PM. My wife ordered the Sword Fish, with mango salsa and I had the New York Strip, my wife upon taking a bite of the rice that came with her dish, told me that the rice was not cooked completely, I tasted and agreed, we informed our waiter and he asked my wife to remove the sword fish to the bread plate and he would take the rice and get it replaced, I requested he took the whole plate and correct the rice issue, which he did, or so I thought, the rice again was raw, the fish was very cold, my wife asked a young lady who was serving drinks, to inform our waiter that the rice was still raw, and the fish was cold, he didn't even bother to return to our table until it was time for the check. To make a long story short this made for a terrible wedding anniversary, though I was impressed with Taos and highly impressed with The Dream Catcher Bed & Breakfast, who I believe made my trip very well worth it, I think that The Apple Tree Restaurant has lately lowered their standards, and therefore is overrated. Review:I do love dining here. Good food, nice ambiance. Disappointed that we did not get home baked bread which I have always loved here. One of my favorite places to eat in Taos. Busy March and only one server for lunch in our dining room.
Taos Pizza Out Back 712 Paseo Del Pueblo Norte - 505.758.3112 $5.01 - $15 Eclectic gourmet pizzas featuring a huge list of ingredients. Weekly pasta specials, unusual salads. Cuisine: Italian Recommended Dishes:PIZZA Review:Great Pizza, Soups, and Salads Delicious gournet pizzas. Huge slices. Great salads and soups. They have several veggie pizzas. Tiny place, crowded. Warm in winter with a nice wood stove. Outdoor dining in summer. We did take out, but they seem to have an ample wine and beer menu.
Trading Post Cafe 4179 State Rd 68 - 505.758.5089 Cuisine: Mediterranean Review:I would like to recommend the Trading Post Cafe in Taos, New Mexico. Mediterranean style food. Dishes that I have not seen since I returned to the US, with 2 years in Italy and 5 in Spain. This is the best restaurant I have found in NM and one of the best anywhere in the US
