Bobcat Bite
Old Las Vegas Hwy. - 505.983.5319
Lunch & Dinner Wed.-Fri.
Cuisine: American
Recommended Dishes: green chile cheeseburger
Review: The best damn green chile cheeseburgers in the state. Located off a relatively empty stretch of road the Bobcat Bite is the quintessential roadside hamburger joint. A dirt parking lot, a dining room about the width of a semi truck and waitresses who havent changed jobs in fifteen years create the ambience;a true working mans lunchstop. You know it's a real place when all the builders come to lunch in their carharts. If you embrace it for what it is the bite is seamless in all respects. All in all an excellent place.

Review: Pricey, large and awesome eats.
When in Santa Fe, try to do Pascual's at least once. Breakfast is the best, arrive early because this place is small and popular. Great ambiance. Try the community table. Dishes here are adventuresome and international in flavor. Rainbow trout for breakfast...yes! Blue corn dishes, everything is big and tasty! Prices are $$$.

Review: Very eclectic, Nouveau Cuisine
New Mexican at it's most cutting edge started right here. Expect Native American, New Mexican, Pacific Rim, Carribean, and lots of fresh, exotic mixes of flavors in both the food, decor, drinks, and clientele! I love a summer rainstorm in the rooftop cantina while I'm noshing on some mango salsa and a cool margarita (but look out for the flooded floor, it could be dangerous! Pricey here. reservations recommended for the main dining room.

Review: MARGARITA AND CHILE HEAVEN
We visited from Houston in late July and loved this place so much we ate there twice. The setting is cozy and cheerful with lovely yet unintrusive southwestern/indian decor. We both enjoyed some of the tasty varieties of margaritas served at reasonable prices. The most outstanding features of this restaurant are its chile sauces. The red chipotle or green chile sauces are incredible, even by Santa Fe standards. We had ours with enchiladas, both cheese and chicken, a ten ounce ribeye, and a vegetarian burrito. We couldn't stop talking about how happy our taste buds were. Frankly, we enjoyed this place more than the Michelin 4-star place we had been to earlier, at about 3x the price. In short, great drinks, great New Mexico food, great atmosphere, and great prices. What's not to like?
Cafe Oasis

Recommended Dishes: Oddly enough, the batter bread!
Review: Fun Dining Experience and Great Food
Enjoyed the funky atmosphere of all the rooms, pleasant people, and wonderful selection of dishes. Can't wait to go back.
Review: Atmosphere
I adored the waitstaff, the food and certainly the atmosphere. Definitely a patio person, it was a great place to eat my breakfast at 2pm and then stroll home at 4pm after reading The Nation and sipping an ice tea through the afternoon. The best part was, it didn't seem like I was the only one.

Very unique and tasty! Sandwiches are excellent.
Review: Great Food in the Downtown Area
I'm a native Santa Fean, and have had a chance to check out several restaurants. This is one of my absolute favorites! The prices are reasonable, the food is delicious, and the portions are generous. They have a nice selection of wine and ales. Weekends can be a bit busy, and it may be hard to find a seat.
Sakura Restaurant

Review: Japanese Food in Santa Fe
Friendly service, and good food. A little difficult to get seated.
Review: Love it
Eaten here a couple of times. Sushi is good and service the same. $6.00 lunch specials really fill you up.
Little Anita's

Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. No checks accepted.
Cuisine: Mexican
Recommended Dishes: Eggs Rancheros, Special omlette Combo plate: cheese enchilada, taco, tamale
Review: New Mexican Breakfast

Review: Little Anita's three Albuquerque restaurants are supplemented with others in Santa Fe, Los Lunes, and a new one in Denver. Having sampled all but the latter...I can honestly say the food is always the same at each. Don't take that as a negative however, I mean that it's consistently good! This is not "Tex-Mex," not "Mexican," and definitely not "California-style"...it's New Mexican!...with delicious chile salsas, and mama's recipes NM-style dishes. Not too hot...not too mild...Goldilocks would have loved this place! Good service too! Nice, quiet atmosphere. Charbroiled burgers with fries for the kids.
Review: Excellent Mexican
This is a Mexican food restaurant. Nice for a change since everything in Santa Fe is "New Mexican" --- yes it's different! Excellent food, not high priced. Ambiance is family style. But nice for a date outing, too. It's the food, not the ambiance, that brings you here.
Tomasitas Cafe
436 Cerrillos Road - 505.988.3614
New Mexican style food. Green & Red Chili dishes. Average cost. Nice location.
Cuisine: Southwestern
Recommended Dishes: Chili Rellenos Pinon and Caramel Cheesecake
Review: New Mexican Style food
I always enjoy a visit to Tomasita's. Wonderful example of New Mexican style food. Short wait.
Review: Too Touristy For Me
I've been to Tomasita's several times for both lunch and dinner. For all the praise heaped on this establishment, I have to argue that there are plenty other New Mexican restaurants that are a head and shoulders above. The red chile is usually pretty pasty but does have a good bite to it. The corn tortillas often were a bit on the rubbery side and the sopaipillas were pretty thick and bready. I did enjoy the rellenos and they make a very smooth margarita. To those who adore Tomasitas...cheers! Pass me the pinon caramel cheesecake, but I'd personally rather eat my chile elsewhere.
Cowgirl Hall Of Fame Restaurant

Review: Fun, fun, fun.
Always an interesting clientele. Fun, entertainment, both planned and spontaneous. Good beers, inexpensive happy hours beers. Great BBQ, large portions. Outdoor patio dining in summer. Crowded inside in winter with smoking allowed, yuck! Slow service when it's packed. Kiddy corral for the little ones.

Indoor and Outdoor dining near Old Town Plaza.

Review: Pizza near the Plaza
Well, it's not Giovanni's in Berkely, but it would be hard to find a better Pizza in Santa Fe. Nice outdoor seating and located near the Plaza

Review: Wine
I love the food at the Anasazi, and wish that the wine service was up to par. I recently suggested having dinner with a group of wine people at the restaurant, as I had been very impressed my a dinner the previous year. This was during the weekend of the Santa Fe Chile and Wine Festival. Unfortunately, the wine service was weak. The whites we ordered arrived at the table unchilled, the red vintages presented after order did not match the vintages on the wine list, and no one was able to answer our questions concerning some of our wine choices. We were told that the wine list was scheduled for an update that had not yet been accomplished. I would think that the restaurant would want their list current for the festival? The food was outstanding, but the evening ended on a dubious note due to the mediocre wine service.
Review: What's happened to an old favorite?
On Friday, the 17th of January, 2003, my wife and I looked forward to dinner at the Anasazi on our first trip of the year to Santa Fe. We arrived a few minutes early, before the opening of the restaurant, and wandered about the area, especially checking the "post-your-message boards at the Santa Fe library nearby. Returning to the restaurant, we were finally seated ten minutes late (past posted opening time), which we took to be an ominous sign. It was. The ambiance was, as always, top notch. It would be hard to argue with the setting and decor. Unfortunately, the service lacked any distinction and the food was close to being actually bad. We were very disappointed -- the restaurant has been a favorite for year. Guess in the future we'll spend more time and money at other Santa Fe restaurants, such as the Pink Adobe and the relatively new Rio Chama Steakhouse.
