Union, township, Union County, northeastern New Jersey, near Elizabeth; incorporated 1808. Manufactures include pharmaceuticals, chemicals, machinery, electrical equipment, and refined petroleum. Kean University (1855) and several 18th-century buildings are here. Former residents of Connecticut founded the community as Connecticut Farms in the late 1740s.
