Review: Love This Place!
My friends and I go out to dinner about every other month and we frequently go to Joel's. We have never been disappointed. His food is wonderful and unique. His soups are unusual and delicious. And the desserts are to die for! Price are fair considering how wonderful the food is. On our most recent visit we noticed a new menu in addition to daily specials.
Review: Why hasn't the Zagat group found this place yet?
This place is one of the best Ridgewood has to offer. I can't understand why there aren't more reviews about this gem! Joel is masterful in the kitchen and in the dining room, too! Love it!
Country Pancake House
140 East Ridgewood Ave. - 201.444.8395
Small, crowded, and a bit noisy, the Country Pancake House is famous for its gigantic portions. The menu is huge, containing virtually everything, but breakfast is the most popular attraction. Does not accept credit cards.

Review: Monstrous portions!

Review: A weeks worth of grub
Quantity does not always mean quality, but the food here is very good, and the portions are for Godzilla
Review: Rubba dub dub...
When I saw the monstrous proportions, my first thought that came to mind was... are they trying to compensate for something... like the taste... But I was wrong. It was magnificent. I know that I am an average Joe... hence my name but you can't get something like this and feel like it was worth it.

Review: Outstanding without pretense
Excellent, seasonal menu with food expertly prepared and served with understated elegance. We enjoyed a penne with seared tuna and white beans as an appetizer and could taste each of the ingedients individually as well as in concert. Our swordfish on roasted vegetables main courses were cooked to perfection. BYOB. A tad pricey but well worth it.
Review: Amazing!
Great food. We had the 5 course chef's tasting menu and it was awesome. Service was great. I can't wait to go back.
Review: fresh ingredients, great food
The food at 28 oak street is consistantly excellent. I have tried something different each time and have never been disappointed. The fish is always cooked perfectly, the vegetables are diverse and wonderful, and the chef's sauces are light and full of flavor. The waiter's are always great, and for the picky eaters out there the chef is always accomadating with substitutions or changes to his perfect creations. A rare find!!

Recommended Dishes: Hot and Sour soup (the mushrooms are fresh which is unusual), Three cup chicken, Sauteed green beans, Veggie dumplings
Review: Very Good
This is a taste of Chinatown in Ridgewood. The food is very fresh and authentic. They'll even make specials off the menu. Their 3 cup chicken is a steaming delight of aromatic mushrooms and chinese basil. Their veggie dishes are lightly seasoned and sauced just right. The ambience is chinatown but the service is superb. The owner Henry is sure to greet you everytime. Best chinese food around ...
