Old Man Rafferty's
106 Albany Street - 732.846.6153
American Pub Style Restaurant
Cuisine: American
Recommended Dishes: Swordfish entree, Filet Mignon, Vesuvius cake
Review: AWESOME!
Stopped by this place almost by accident, now I'm telling all my friends about it. The swordfish entree and the filet mignon, at least, were more like gourmet food than what I was expecting for less than twenty bucks. They obviously have a fantastic chef. The Vesuvius cake blew me away with its rich, delicious, top quality chocolatey-ness. DELICIOUS. Really nice waitress too. I went for a coke - but supposedly they have an excellent selection of beers, as well as wine and mixed drinks.

Review: Over priced food that is barely mediocre
I went with a party of 5 people. The food was mediocre at best and the prices are insane for the diminished quality. Another complaint is that the "door men" will demand a $10 per person cover charge even if you are there to eat dinner (which will cost a fortune) they tell you they will refund your cover charge if you present proof (by way of a receipt) indicating that each person ordered an entree. That means a person can spend over $30 in appetizers and still have to pay the cover charge because of the entree requirement, or if entrees are ordered you have to go through the process and embarassment of asking the "door guys" for a refund after documenting your proof of entree purchase (this is absolutely ridiculous). the spot is OK for drinks. The decor is nice and the music was good but overall the experience was disappointi
Review: OK but no Mediterro

Review: Great, Stupendous
Wonderful service, great atmosphere. Consider giving it a try. Most expensive entre is low 20's. Great food and music.
Review: Finally something original
My wife and I have been eating dinner at Nova Terra for a year now and absolutely LOVE it. The music is always great and the service is suprisingly almost like fine dining. The food has been great recently and overall the atmosphere is half Miami Beach, half Manhattan.
Review: Great Miami-like atmosphere
My fiance and I go there all the time. excellent service, good food, great music. It's a fun night out.
Harvest Moon Brewery

Review: Overpriced and a bit arificial but solid
The food's good but expensive, but the live bands can get annoying.
Northstar Cafe
25 Liberty Plaza - 732.846.0700
Mediterraian, Tapas, Full bar, Music
Cuisine: Mediterranean
Recommended Dishes: Nice selection of classic tapas
Review: Good food. Too bad about the bum's rush
Nice selection of tapas, if a bit expensive. Good wine list. But, at 7:30, they announced to us they had a party, and we needed to be out by 7:45. The check came (unrequested) and when we asked for a desert, "Sorry, we don't have that tonight". That kind of customer-hostile behavior sure ruins an otherwise decent place.
