Bellevue, city in Sarpy County, eastern Nebraska, on the Missouri River, south of Omaha. Bellevue College (1965) is located in the city, and Offutt Air Force Base, headquarters of the United States Strategic Command and site of the Strategic Aerospace Museum, is nearby. Established in the 1820s as a fur-trading post and river port, Bellevue is the oldest permanent white settlement in the state. It was incorporated as a city in 1855.
