Saint Louis Park, city, Hennepin County, southeastern central Minnesota, on Minnehaha Creek, a residential and industrial suburb of Minneapolis; settled 1854, incorporated as a city 1955. Major industries in the city include health-care services and the manufacture of electronic equipment and aluminum and rubber products, and processed grain are produced. The nation's first concrete grain elevator is here. The name of the community, known as Elmwood until 1886, is derived from that of the Minneapolis and St. Louis Railway. Population 42,931 (1980); 43,787 (1990); 44,126 (2000).
