Romulus, city, Wayne County, southeastern Michigan, on the Huron River; incorporated 1970. It is a residential and industrial suburb of Detroit and the site of Detroit Metropolitan-Wayne County Airport. The community experienced rapid growth in the 1960s. Population 24,857 (1980); 22,897 (1990); 22,979 (2000).
