Inkster, city, Wayne County, southeastern Michigan, on the Lower River Rouge; settled 1825, incorporated as a city 1964. Inkster is primarily a residential suburb of Dearborn and contains some industry. The community was known as Moulin Rouge until its present name was adopted in 1863. Population 35,190 (1980); 30,772 (1990); 30,115 (2000).
