Review: Try the Charley's Crab in Grand Rapids, MI
I haven't been there in a few years. However, I can tell you that, last I was there, everything was wonderful. Our server brought us a pâté with matzo for us to snack on while we waited for our appetizers. She was most helpful in our wine selection and was very friendly. I ordered the escargot which was placed in a flaky pastry and covered by a garlic-herb butter sauce. The escargot was fabulous. Tender and full of taste. For the main course I had the Shrimp Danielle. This was a bed of rice pilaf that covered the entire dinner plate with 10-14 garlic shrimp placed in a ring on top of the rice. For desert I had a crème brule which was made to perfection, exactly the correct consistency. Others in our party ordered pastas made to order from scratch and fresh catch of the day. There was not one single disappointment amongst us. Our drinks never ran dry. Our server was there when we needed her, and not over bearing. There was a very extensive bar selection. We felt very welcome and well taken care of. I had visited 'The Crab' many times a week for years. The ambience was lovely with wall to wall windows over looking the terrace and the river. Live light music from the piano by the foyer filled the restaurant. The valet parking was a very nice addition and at no extra cost to the guest.

Review: Fresh and Home made
This restaurant is actually vegetarian, though most of the regulars are not. Gaia offers delightfully fresh food, including the veggie hash, which is a mound of colorful veggies smothered in melted cheese and blended with a hint of garlic. Many of the menu items are made fresh in house including focaccia and cornbreads as well as the infamous Gaia cookie, chock-full of everything that makes cookies so good. House recipe soups and nightly dinner specials ranging from polenta to pasta keep even the most carnivorous coming back for more.

It was absolutely fabulous, although I would have preferred it a little more intimate and less noisy.
Review: yum
I really enjoyed my first experience here. I was with a birthday party on a Saturday night. Eating here with larger groups is more fun that small groups. Let me also say that the grillers are hilarious- one of them pegged me with a nickname while I was waiting for my food! It was great- though if you are shy, the grillers might freak you out.

Review: mmm mmm good
They really know what they are doing. Everything is surprisingly delicious. Well blended spices whether hot or mild, are very unique. This place is just a tad more pulled together than the other Indian places in the area, and their beverages range from a wider selection as well. It's difficult to be disappointed in the food. It's amazing.
Review: The best food in Grand Rapids
This place has such wonderful food I literally make moaning noises while I eat. Indian food is now my most favorite type of food because of this restaurant. I eat at Bombay at least 2 times a month.
Arnie's Bakery

Cuisine: Scandinavian
Recommended Dishes: Scandinavian Shuffle, Swedish Meatballs, Cheesecake
Review: wonderful atmosphere
I love the food at Arnie's. The service was timely and courteous. The manager, Shawn, came over and greeted our table kindly and asked how our meal was. I like the Scandinavian shuffle, delicious and worked well with my Weight Watchers plan.

Review: Healthy Choices!
The food was great! I have been watching my weight and they offer some healthy, yet delicious choices. I ordered the Jogga Sandwich. With it you can choose from a variety of items such as fries, loaded potatoe wedges, tossed salad (what I chose), etc. Also, you get a tiny taste of a desert with your meal. Yummy! I must you warn you that the servings are large, so you'll probably end up taking some home (not like that's a bad thing). Plus, the service was good and the prices were reasonable.
Review: THE FOOD WAS GREAT, BUT THE SERVICE WAS THE WORST I HAVE EVER HAD THERE OR ANY WHERE ELSE. I WILL MAKE SURE THAT I NEVER HAVE THAT WAITRESS AGAIN.
Bistro Bella Vita
44 Grandville Avenue SW - 616.222.4600
Review: Shifty Waiter
Sunday Brunch, 1/19/03. Waiter named Dan wasn't very attentive. When we paid our bills, we didn't receive the coin change. When asked why not, he said he didn't have change for a dollar. When we insisted we get the proper change for our receipt he said "he assumed he would get some type of renumeration." I told him not to assume anything when handling people's money. As a result, he didn't get a very good tip from our table when we originally had planned to be very generous. You might want to check into this to see what other customers he might have done this to. Not a good reflection of the restaurant.
