Eastpointe, city, Macomb County, southeastern Michigan, near Lake Saint Clair, incorporated as a city 1929. It is a suburb of Detroit, with light industry; major manufactures include motor-vehicle and aircraft parts. The community, settled in the early 19th century, was incorporated as the village of Halfway in 1925. From 1929 until 1992, the city was known as East Detroit.
