Randolph, town, Norfolk County, eastern Massachusetts, on the Cochato and Blue Hill rivers, a suburb south of Boston; incorporated 1793. It is largely a residential community with some light manufacturing. The town was set off from Braintree in 1793 and is named for the colonial statesman Peyton Randolph. Population 28,218 (1980); 30,093 (1990); 30,093 (1996 estimate).
