Review: Best place in the valley for breakfast.
Great fresh breads. Lots of vegetarian choices. Outstanding breakfast and lunch.
Amanouz Cafe

Moroccan and Mediterranean specialities (plenty of cous cous salads and pocket sandwiches) in a small, informal setting. Counter service. Price range: less than $10 (average meal/person, w/o drinks). The cafe supports local artists by displaying their work on the walls. Thursdays the cafe hosts "French night," where transplanted and wannabe Francophones can come and practice their language skills. Moroccan food is light, with no cream or dairy products and is prepared with homemade spices and fresh ingredients.

Review: I just love this place!
Amanouz is such a comfortable place--the relaxed atmosphere, the friendly help (who know your name after a few visits), and the light menu. There are plenty of veg*n dishes that are absolutely delicious.
Review: We're not worthy
Amanouz doesn't try to draw attention to itself amidst the establishments of more popular (at least, more popular in this country) cuisines in the middle of the artsy "NoHo" - but those palates who enjoy Mediterranean flair are in for a treat. With better falafel than the entire state of Israel (at barely twice the cost of a pint of grease from McDonald's), this place will become your second home. All of the dishes are healthy and there are plenty of choices for the most picky of easters. Don't miss this gem!
Review: Five Stars
I wish I could clone Amanouz and take it with me. The food can't be beat, the menu is full, the staff are friendly and courteous, and the price is right. What more could anyone want. I wish I lived close enough to eat there regularly. There are so many excellent choices that I wouldn't be bored with the food.
Review: Awesome
My Mom, Dad, and I go there very often. The food can't be beat, and the waiters are some of the nicest people you'll ever meet!
Review: Good food. Slow service.
Interesting menu. Nothing that will knock you over, but quite enjoyable. Service is really slow. Atmosphere is pleasant enough when it's not too busy, that the wait is ok.
Spoleto
50 Main St. - 413.5866313 $15.01 - $30
Cuisine: Italian
Recommended Dishes: any fish special; lasagne and BREAD!!
Review: Consistently high quality
Definitely a place for a special dinner. Not inexpensive but worth it; dishes are complex but not overly so. Creative italian. Always busy, sometimes snooty service at the bar but well worth it
Unmi Restaurant
134 Main - 413.582.6765 $15.01 - $30
This restaurant has been reported to be out of business. (5/13/03)\n\nChef Unmi Abkin is a graduate of the California Culinary institute and has worked in some of the finest restaurants including Café Kati, Boulevard and Chez Panisse.\n\nHoused in a sub-street level space that was formerly a boiler room the restaurant is comfortable, blending historical references to the strong lines and rich colors found in Asian architecture with sly nods to funky 1950’s American Chinese restaurant design – right down to the bamboo screens.\n\nThe menu offers diners a wide variety of asian/international dishes including fresh salads (Roasted Beets & Oranges served with mâche, endive and truffle oil) rich and layered main dishes (Grilled Pork Chop served with grilled kumquats, crispy yams and mustard greens) and heavenly sweets (Cookies and Cream – crème brûlée with sugar cookies).
Cuisine: Eclectic
