El Charro Restaurant 1209 W Wyatt Earp Blvd - 620.225.0371 Recommended Dishes:Chicken Enchilada Delight Review:Delicious Restaurant! Wonderful restaurant. It has had no competition at all, until Applebee's opens in Dodge. But I will still be visiting El Charro as much as possible. Great food!
Kate's 305 E Trail St - 620.225.9466 Recommended Dishes:Chicken Fried Steak ... and the pies! Review:With all due appologies to Brigham Young..."this is the place" to eat in Dodge City. Unless you want atmosphere. Kate's Restaurant is a locals' favorite , with down-home, Midwest cuisine in big portions, and at low prices. In the best sense, a family restaurant. Honestly, this Kansas traveler can say this is the "only" good restaurant in DC that I've found, except for a couple of steakhouse/club places. DC on a whole has the worst restaurants and especially service of anywhere I've traveled. Service with a smirk usually...unless you're one of the "good ol' boys" meeting for coffee. Everyone is treated well at Kate's!
Taco Tico 1603 W Wyatt Earp Blvd - 620.225.5744 Cuisine: Mexican Recommended Dishes:Combination Plate, Tacos, and Taco Burger Review:Better than Taco Bell!
Brushfire Grill and Cantina 2601 Central Ave - 620.227.6236 $5.01 - $15 Cuisine: Steaks Review:Ate there 4/19/03 I believe there are new owners, this is not the same restaurant it was a year ago. The people were rude and the food was not edible. It took at least 20 min. for someone to even notice we were there.
Inn Pancake House The 1610 W Wyatt Earp Blvd - 620.225.6950 Review:Service With A Smirk? I've eaten at this restaurant several times traveling to and from Central Kansas, or exploring the Santa Fe Trail's route. Hand's down, consistently the worst service I've ever had anywhere. If you're "a local" they have time to chat forever about the town's "goin's ons," but if your a stranger...you get a "whad'ya want?, and you're food sits waiting to be served. Good breakfast buffet though...at least you can get in, eat, and get out quickly! Try Kates for breakfast though...or anything else. I'm a native Kansan, but this town is for eater's not diners! Even the McDonald's has surley help! Eat/stay before or after Dodge City!
