Highland Park, city, Lake County, northeastern Illinois, on Lake Michigan, a suburb of Chicago; settled 1834, incorporated 1869. Plastics are manufactured here. Of interest are three homes designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, as well as Ravinia Park, summer home of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. Population 30,611 (1980); 30,575 (1990); 31,365 (2000).
