Hanover Park, village, Cook and DuPage counties, northeastern Illinois, on the West Branch of the DuPage River; settled 1820s, incorporated 1958. A suburb of Chicago, it is a residential community with some light manufacturing. It grew rapidly following World War II, retaining the name Ontarioville until 1958. It is named for Hanover (or Hannover), Germany.
