Twin Falls, city, seat of Twin Falls County, southern Idaho; incorporated 1907. It is a commercial and shipping center of an agricultural area. Local manufactures include clothing, processed food, and paper, plastic, and metal goods. A junior college and a planetarium are here. Nearby is the great gorge of the Snake River, which is spanned by the Perrine Memorial Bridge. The community was founded in 1904 as the hub of an irrigation system. It is named for the nearby Twin Falls on the Snake River. Population 26,209 (1980); 27,591 (1990); 34,469 (2000).
