Waipahu, community, Honolulu County, Hawaii, on southern Oahu Island. It is a sugarcane-processing center located near Pearl Harbor. The community's modern development began with the establishment of a sugar plantation in the 1890s. Population 29,139 (1980); 31,435 (1990); 33,108 (2000).
