Pembroke Pines, city, Broward County, southeastern Florida; incorporated 1961. It is primarily a residential suburb of Fort Lauderdale and Hollywood and has experienced rapid growth since 1970. A community college and North Perry Airport are in the city. Population 35,776 (1980); 65,452 (1990); 137,427 (2000).
