They were the only place to serve the best salt and vinegar chips I can fathom. My family has always had a favorite restaurant in every state we've lived in. Casapulla's wins it, hands down. Review:The Perfect Sandwich When I moved to Delaware from New York City I figured I knew the best sandwiches in the world. I was wrong. I knew the second best. The best is the Delaware Sub. And nobody does it better than Casapulla's. Casapulla's North, a relatively recent branch of the original family deli in Elsmere, keeps the tradition not only alive but vibrant. The subs are delicious. Review:I've eaten alot of subs in my day, but this is one of the best subs I've ever had.
Italian Bistro (1) 4301 Kirkwood Highway - 302.996.0700 Cuisine: Italian Recommended Dishes:Vear riviera blackened tuna (rare) Review:Great Food, Fun Atmosphere Love it, my favorite Italian restaurant in Delaware. Review:It tastes as good as it smells The aroma of burning wood begins in the parking lot. It mixes with herb chicken, sausage and all varieties of fresh fish as you enter. Get a seat near the fire and watch them work. Great Italian food, reasonable prices, great ambiance - even kid friendly. Hard to believe you can cook so well for so many people
Utage Japanese Restaurant 1601 Concord Pike - 302.652.1230 $15.01 - $30 Japanese restaurant and sushi bar.
Located in the back of Independence Mall, notable for the replica of Philadelphia's Independence Hall visible from Concord Pike. Cuisine: Sushi Recommended Dishes:sushi Sushi Review:Here, fishie, fishie... This is a great place to go for sushi, with friendly service and interesting specials. (I've never had any of the cooked food here.) Review:Best Sushi in the area A friend and I went to this restaurant together with the intention of reviewing it. We both love sushi so were naturally predisposed to like it.
The restaurant is tucked in the back of a fairly tacky strip mall. Inside however, it is a surprisingly large and nice place. The ambiance was nice but nothing really outstanding, it was really the details that made it special.
On to the food: For sushi this is really the best place I have found in Delaware, it is probably the most expensive too. (But think about it – Do you ever go to sushi for a cheap meal?) The price is well worth it in terms of quality.
For an appetizers we got Salmon Arazudaikon Maki – A weird salmon and radish combination. We were not all too thrilled with it. We would not order it again. Ika Wakame No Nuta – Squid in Miso Sauce With Seaweed. Tasty, try to eat the squid with only a little bit of seaweed. It was the most tender squid I have ever eaten. This we WILL order again, but it is only for the adventuresome.
The Miso soup was average. Really nothing to write home about (although I would stab you with my spoon if you tried to take mine away)
Then came the main course of lots of sushi. It was all wonderful save one roll we got. It was a roll that contained salmon (it might have been the Shogan roll) but they cooked the salmon. Sushi other than eel or shrimp should not be cooked. If you are going to stray from that guideline a warning label should be placed on the menu (in flaming red letters).
Both me and my friend like wasabi and we got it. If you are not a fan of wasabi you should probably ask for less.
Notes on the rice: The rice was a little softer than I have seen in the past without too strong of a flavor. I preferred it but it was a little challenging to eat with chopsticks.
If you are looking to drop some cash for sushi so good that you just can’t help making yummy noises this the place to g
