Review:our favorite Terrific. I can't vouch for it being authentic, but it certainly isn't anything like those chains. Family run, so much so that I've seen a kid doing his homework at one of the tables in the evening. Review:Fabulous Food! Carbone's Ristorante 588 Franklin Avenue - 860.2969646 Cuisine: Italian Recommended Dishes: Fried Ravioli, Bocce Ball Ceasar Salad, Calamari, Gnocchi, and Linguini Cabonara Manzo Warnoff Review:Circo de Carbone's
Review:Simply Connecticut's Best Having read a prior negative review, "Circo de Carbone's", I feel compelled to offer an opposing viewpoint. Carbone's is simply the best Connecticut has to offer in Italian cuisine. On a recent visit, I dined with five friends and there was not one complaint. The fried ravioli was spectacular, breaded to perfection, but not too heavy. Tableside preparation was great fun, mostly because the wait staff was exceptionally pleasant - I even commented to the manager as we left. Try the tableside-prepared "Bocce Ball" for dessert - a delicious blend of citrus, chocolate and vanilla with no flavor overpowering another. Carbone's was a wonderful change of pace to the bland, overpriced Italian restaurants of Fairfield County where I reside (one very notable exception would be Via Sforza in Norwalk). I think people down here in Fairfield County judge a restaurant by its price and perceived exclusivity (see just about any SoNo restaurant), not its food or character! Carbone's blends homemade tastes with upscale presentation in a way that can’t be beat! Review:Surely, One of Connecticut's Best. Carbone's has what most restaurant wish they had..great food, great atmosphere and great people! Review:Love it there I have eaten at Carbones for over 25 years and have never once been disappointed with the service, food or atmosphere.
USS Chowder Pot IV 165 Brainard Rd. - 860.244.3311 Bar,Live entertainment,Private rooms,Kid Friendly
Parking: Lot
Dress: Neat casual Cuisine: Seafood Recommended Dishes:Whole Belly Clams/Seafood Platters broiled scallops Review:Great Food -- Long Wait Expect to wait at least half an hour, up to 3 hours on special Holidays. If it's seafood you want, the wait is worth it. Review:Yummy! My friends and I have been to the Chowder Pot several times in recent months and each time we've ordered the broiled scallops. We'd like to try something else, but the scallops are so good that we can't resist. By happenstance, we've had the same waiter each time, Joshua, and our service has been more than excellent...really extraordinary. He's so pleasant, prompt, witty and bright that we've decided to ask for his area each time from now on.
