J Gilbert's Wood-Fired Steaks 185 Glastonbury Blvd - 860.659.0409 $15.01 - $30 J. Gilbert's main fare is their specialty steak, but also serve chicken dishes, fish, etc. Atmosphere is cozy, on the border between casual and dressy (though I've seen all sorts there). Food is a little pricey, but not outrageous. Cuisine: Steaks Recommended Dishes:Maytag Blue Potato Chips, Center Cut Filet 12oz Kansas City Strip. Light, but oh so good. Review:J. Gilbert's Wood-Fired Steak: I haven't had any dish there that I didn't like. Start with the homemade Maytag Blue Potato chips, covered in melted blue cheese. Have a salad, if you like, then go for the steak, marinated for weeks, then peppered and cooked over a wood fire. Best steak I've had! I've also tried chicken dishes there, with equal excellent results. Service is always prompt and friendly, even when the restaurant is packed! And it usually is, so reservations are highly recommended. The ambient noise sometimes gets a little loud, just because they can pack quite a number of people into their space. The prices can also be a little on the high side. But for the food and service... it's wort Review:Some of the best Steak ever, and that doesn't even start it.

Bertucci's Brick Oven Pizzeria 2882 Main St. Griswald Mall - 860.633.2225 $5.01 - $15 Thin-crust pizza is the specialty, but also features salads, and Italian entrees and pastas. Cuisine: Italian Recommended Dishes:The 'Bertucci' (pizza) Review:Go for the pizza! Don't let the menu fool you - go to Bertucci's for the pizza. The entrees are generally ok, though nothing you won't find in any other Italian restaurant. The pizza, however, is delightful: thin crust, exceptionally well-seasoned, and no skimping on the toppings. Service is usually very good. Also try the weekday lunch special: order an entree or an individual pizza, and help yourself to all the salad and bread you can eat.
