Briarwood Inn 1630 8th Street - 303.279.3121 Recommended Dishes:Filet Wellington Prime Rib Review:Sophisticated elegance The Filet Wellington is perfect, but any choice is extrememly safe. The choice of different dining rooms/areas lend themselves well to the supurb serving staff and outstanding quality. Review:A Friday Lunch Celebration Three of us made our annual trip to the Briarwood for an elegant lunch, celebrating one of our birthdays. Our service was superb and our food eye-appealing as well as delicious. We, again, had their Prime Rib meal, with its' spinach salad, mashed potatoes, and great mixed veggies. My only recommendation would be that the food be hotter, as well as the plates, and a more interesting bread served than the cold, sliced loaf. We shared a dessert that was to die for -- a Choc/Fresh Raspberry Torte (or cake) that had a mousse consistency. Oh, so good!! We will definitely return to this charming place!!

Tony Rigatoni's in Golden 714 14th Street - 303.277.9020 Cuisine: Italian Review:Un-Traditional Pseudo-Italian Being new to the area, and in need of an Italian dining experience, we tried TR's, TWICE. Each time the service was fine, but the food was an utter disappointment. The “Chicken Marsala with mushrooms and scallions” should read "Scallion and Food Service Garlic with mushrooms and a pre-cooked, dry chicken breast with a hint of Marsala." The Chicken Saltimbocca came with the same dry chicken. The "sage and cream sauce" was lacking both sage and cream. The Saltimbocca was simply a chicken breast with a heavy dollop of Grey Poupon, prosicutto, melted cheese and canned Alfredo Sauce. The Shrimp Scampi lacked the ever-important SHRIMP. Little more than a half dozen small shrimp lay hidden under mounds of scallions. In all the pasta dishes we tried, the pasta itself seemed prepared between the lunch and dinner seatings. The marinara sauce lacked spice. Perhaps it is also used as their pizza sauce? If you are in the area, and want a palatable Italian meal, I’d recommend trying to find a Macaroni Grill or Olive Garden and skip Tony Rigatoni’s.
