Little Ollie's Asian Cafe 2364 E. 3rd Avenue - 303.316.8888 Recommended Dishes:chilean sea bass, basil chicken Review:Awesome affordable modern chinese food This restaurant located in Cherry Creek offers lots of great dishes including innovative appetizers, a wonderful chilean sea bass feature, and lots of fresh vegetables. The wine list features modest but deliciously perfect Californian labels. The setting is great, too: modern and flashy but at the same time, warm and cozy. Perfect for a date or for a group of friends to share the large main dishes. The service is very attentive and knowledgeable. The best part is that the prices are very reasonable! The worst part is the relativley flavorless fortune cookies!

Ship Tavern 321 17th St. - 303.297.3111 $15.01 - $30 Romantic hotel bar and restaurant in the Brown Palace in downtown Denver. Nautical decor, dim lighting, bar and a few innovative 1-person tables. Cuisine: American Review:Superb Value on the Food
Goodfriends Restaurant 3100 E Colfax Av - 303.399.1751 $5.01 - $15 Goodfriends is a medium-sized place with a full bar in the back and seating in front for twenty or thirty people. Dinners are about $8-12 US, breakfast/brunch is about $4-10. They feature pasta dishes, all kinds of sandwiches, and Mexican food for dinner, and a nice selection of omelets, skillets, and other egg dishes for breakfast. Atmosphere is cozy with lots of wood and plants, with stained glass windows and pictures of Denver neighborhoods adding interest. Cuisine: American Recommended Dishes:fajitas, omelets, Chicago burger on pumpernickel, fish specials Review:I've been eating brunch with friends at Goodfriends almost every Sunday for a decade. Although we've tried lots of other places in the city, we keep coming back because the food and service is reliable, and we can get a table for ten without a reservation. However, the place is usually full at dinnertime, and the bar is popular at night. It's a nice hangout, with a somewhat dim, cozy atmosphere, lots of slightly eccentric American/Italian/Mexican fare, and a casual but civilized ambience.
Papa's Pizza 3212 Wyandot St, (at W 32nd Ave) - 303.455.5861 $5.01 - $15 Cuisine: Italian Recommended Dishes:Pepperoni and Salami 10' Review:MY PIE... Although I try not to get dragged into "best pizza" arguments, I must say no one in the Denver area serves up a better pie for the money than Papa's. The crust is just the right thinness, and cheese and meat toppings are just right. Perhaps a little less sauce would make this the perfect pizza for the area. Carl and the charming staff take good care of their customers.
Pete's Kitchen 1962 E Colfax Av - 303.320.9803 $5.01 - $15 Pete's Kitchen is a little diner on East Colfax in Denver. Pretty much standard diner fare with burritos, souvlaki and gyros as well. It's cheap, it's plentiful, it's a diner, it's a neighborhood institution, it's open early and late. Cuisine: Mexican Recommended Dishes:hashbrowns and chili, gyros, breakfast burrito Review:Pete's is the place to go when you want cheap, plentiful, high-calorie food delivered with high spirits from the wait staff. Pete's stays open late enough that everyone goes there after the movies, the bars, or the theatres close, so there's always a great crowd to watch and hang out with. If you're hungry and you've got three bucks or so, go to Pete's for a plate of stuffed olive leaves, or hashbrowns smothered with red chili. Don't order the coffee unless you need the caffeine. If you're more flush, the burritos will keep you metabolically stoked for the whole day. The gyros and souvlaki plates come with plenty of feta cheese and lots of fresh-grilled pita bread.
The Broker 12100 E 39th Ave. - 303.371.6420 Bar,Private rooms
Parking: Available
Reservations: Recommended Cuisine: Seafood Recommended Dishes:Water Review:Don't waste your time or your money! Even though we had reservations & the restaurant was virtually empty, ( which should have been our first clue), we had to wait while our table was prepped. It was quickly obvious that their website was out-of-date, as the costs on the menu were several dollars higher than the website had published. The complimentary shrimp bowl (which is the Brokers "claim to fame") was overcooked & mealy & most of the shrimp had not had the entrails removed. We sent the first bowl back & asked for another, but it was just as bad. We had to ask for our iced tea refills, drinks, etc. even though we were the only occupied table in the section. The salad bar was truly lacking any class...the lettuce pieces were grossly oversize, dressings were mismarked or completely empty & the area itself was scattered with spilled food. I've been more impressed with the salad bar at fast food restaurants. When our dinners arrived the $31 Salmon was merely average, the veggies cold & the $38 prime rib dry, even the mediocre horseradish sauce didn't help. I didn't want to leave out the atmosphere which had apparently been nice 20 years ago but which currently needs remodeling, (perhaps they can then fix the heater in the women’s bathroom so they can do away with the portable heater so aesthetically displayed in the walkway to the stalls). The built in aquariums might have added some class but looked like they hadn’t been cleaned or wiped down in some time, the algae growth on the glass only served to help hide the fact that there were only 1 or 2 fish in each tank. There was certainly nothing remarkable or above average about the food or the service. We all agreed that we will never return to the Airport Broker. Please heed my warning & don't waste your time & especially not your money!
