Arvada, city, Jefferson and Adams counties, north central Colorado, a residential suburb of Denver; settled 1868, incorporated 1904. It was a farming and flour-milling center until the 1940s, when large-scale housing construction began. Manufactures include laboratory instruments, medical devices, and industrial equipment.
