Don Cuco 214 N. Brand Blvd. - 818.553.1123 $5.01 - $15 Typical Mexican cuisine; very nice ambiance (fountain, many nooks and crannys); seats about 120 or so. Easy to find: it's literally right next door to (one door south of) the famous Alex Theater (which has a gigantic spire sticking up out of it) on the east side of Brand Boulevard between Lexington and Broadway, a couple of blocks north of the huge Borders Bookstore. Cuisine: Mexican Recommended Dishes:Arroz con Pollo Review:Excellent Mexican food, same price as inferior chains
Zankou Chicken 1415 E. Colorado St. - 818.244.1937 Cuisine: Armenian Recommended Dishes:Chicken Plate Review:Great Chicken, Great Price Forget about fast food chicken. Forget about the roasted chicken in the deli department of your local supermarket. This chicken is moist and excellently flavored. Not just chicken, either. There's truly wonderful falafel and other Mediteranean dishes. No matter what time of day, this place is always crowded with returning patrons. You know if a place is busy at 11pm that it's got to be good!

Maryland - 818.507.4819 $15.01 - $30 Small, located in the courtyard across from the Mann movie theater and Tony Roma's (statue of Ben Franklin sitting on a bench right in front of Zono). They have great Cuervo Gold margaritas and the best chips and salsa. The chips are really crispy and fresh tasting. Best I've ever had. Also, the waiters and waitresses are very friendly and knowledgeable about the food. When I take guests, they're always impressed with how friendly the waiters are. Oreo Loco dessert is killer!

Review:Poor service at A Bientot While I ate here once and the lunch was fine, at dinner we were practically ignored, finally had to walk out after receiving nothing after waiting nearly 45 minutes. When we asked for bread, we were told it would come with the meal. Meanwhile plates of food sat waiting under a heat lamp for over half an hour while the waitress ignored it. Several other people also walked out that night due to atrocious service. Would NEVER go back to this place again.
