Delta Of Venus Cafe & Pub 122 B Street - 530.753.8639 $5.01 - $15 The Delta of Venus is a casual cafe and pub near campus with regular local entertainment and tasty healthy food. It is set up in an old small house, with two or three living room-sized dining areas and tables outside. The food is all in the under $10 range, and can be much cheaper if all you want is a brownie or a bagel with their special dill spread. Brunch is an all-vegetarian menu; there are meat selections available later in the day. Cuisine: Breakfast / Brunch
Kathmandu Kitchen 234 G St - 530.756.3507 Cuisine: Asian Review:Mmm! Mmm! Mmm! Everbody must try the Mixed Appitzers, and for dinner Lal Mass (lamb dish cooked in rajastan style -- hot and spicy) and chicken tikka masala (little heavy). Must make the trip.
Pluto's 500 First St - 530.758.8676 $5.01 - $15 Cuisine: Organic / Healthy Recommended Dishes:the huge salad Review:Pluto's Fresh Food We commute from Sacramento to San Francisco and can stop at several Pluto's locations. Davis is right on the way and we stop to pick up one of their large salad to go boxes for dinner. They have a college following and you can avoid the crowd by coming at off hours. Popular places tend to get busy at lunch and dinner. The service is great with friendly folks behind the counter. Pick your ingredients and they will serve up a great dish.
Mishka's Cafe 530-759-0811 - 530.759.0811 $5.01 - $15 Cuisine: Eclectic Recommended Dishes: soy mocha! I recommend the servers. Review:Best place to people watch The coffee is great... the music just right...but the people watching makes the time worthwhile! Review:The owner is a hunk!
Review:wireless internet The music can be rather annoying with a jazzy sort of sound and there are no vegan treats, but with wireless internet and soy mochas you shouldn't be complaining. Review:Hot graduate students For the past two years I have been going to Mishka's weekly. I love the atmosphere... The soft music in the background and the people that go to Mishka's appear very intelectual. The employees are friendly and the owner is a cutie! Coffee is inexpensive and great as well as the internet capabilities make Mishka's the best cafe in Davis! Review:Best Cafe in the County Because of the ambience, the employees, the interesting customers hulked over their textbooks, the often international upbeat music, and the free wireless Internet access, Mishka's Cafe is perhaps the best coffeeshop in Davis or Sacramento. Frankly, though, I'd prefer it if readers of this review would try elsewhere, for it's already difficult enough to find a table. I do appreciate that the owner has a kind word for everyone who enters, and that he forces even strangers to share a table on the busiest evenings.

Sudwerk 2001 2nd St - 530.758.8700 Recommended Dishes:Beer Review:Late on an April 2003 afternoon, staff seemed unclear about whether the restaurant was open or not. A reluctant waiter announced we couldn't order dinner and only reluctantly disclosed that it was possible to order from the pub menu. By the time he returned, dinner season had opened. The special, a meatloaf concoction in lemon caper sauce, resembled in both appearance and taste the entries in James Lileks' Gallery of Regrettable Food. The mashed potatoes, however, were excellent, and the beer was outstanding. My recommendation: Drink more beer and skip the dinner menu.
