Blytheville, city, a seat of Mississippi County, northeastern Arkansas, near the Mississippi River; incorporated 1891. It is the processing and shipping center of a rich farm region in which cotton, wheat, and soybeans are produced; motor-vehicle parts, steel, and other metal items also are manufactured here. The city is named for Reverend Henry T. Blythe, who settled here in 1864.
