Drummondville, city, seat of Drummond County, southern Québec, Canada, on the Saint-François River. The manufacture of textiles is important to the economy; other major manufactures include paper and wood products, rubber goods, and clothing. Points of interest include the Village québécois d'antan (Pioneer Village), which depicts life in the region between 1810 and 1910; Domaine Trent (Trent Estate), which is located in Voltigeurs Park; and Les Légendes Fantastiques (Fantastic Legends), which is an outdoor multimedia presentation. The city hosts La Mondial des Cultures (World Folklore Festival) every summer.
The settlement was founded in 1815 as a British military post. It is named in honor of Sir Gordon Drummond, who was governor-general of Canada at the time. When the textile industry was established in the early 20th century, the area developed significantly. Drummondville incorporated as a city in 1936.
