Hove, borough of the unitary authority of Brighton and Hove, southeastern England, on the English Channel, adjoining Brighton. The borough, primarily a residential community, has resort facilities and some light industry. The growth of Hove dates from the 19th century and was associated with the rapid development of Brighton as a fashionable seaside resort.
