Badalona, city, northeastern Spain, in Barcelona Province, Catalonia, a port on the Mediterranean Sea. Situated near Barcelona, the city has industries producing chemicals, textiles, ceramics, and processed food. The ruins of the monastery of San Jerónimo de la Murtra (15th century) are nearby.
