Tokaj, also Tokay, town, northeastern Hungary, in Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén County, at the confluence of the Tisza and Bodrog rivers. It is the commercial center of a region noted for its vineyards and with productive mineral deposits, chiefly of salt, sapphire, and carnelian. The famous Tokay wines are produced here.
