Pforzheim, city in southwestern Germany, at the confluence of the Enz and Nagold rivers, in Baden-Württemberg near Karlsruhe. Jewelry, timepieces, and machinery are the principal manufactures of the city. Located on the site of a Roman settlement, Pforzheim was badly damaged during the Thirty Years' War (1618-1648) and in World War II (1939-1945).
