Manzanillo, city, southeastern Cuba, in Granma Province, on the Gulf of Guacanayabo (an arm of the Caribbean Sea). A port of entry with road and rail links with the rest of the island, it is also the trade center of a fertile region producing coffee, sugar, rice, fruit, honey, tobacco, and cattle. In the city are sawmilling, fish-canning, and sugar-milling industries and plants producing molasses, cigars, and leather goods. Zinc and copper deposits lie nearby. Exports are primarily sugar products, tobacco, and lumber. The city was founded in 1784.
