Udon Thani, also Udornthani, town in northeastern Thailand, capital of Udon Thani Province, near Vientiane, Laos. It is a commercial and transportation center for the surrounding agricultural region. The community is linked to Bangkok by railroad and highway. Population (1992 estimate) 83,720.
